Current UDJ Executive Committee

National Executive Committee of UDJ has made the following assignments and reassignments of duties within itself.  The National Executive Committee is the governing body of the Andinet(UDJ) Party that oversees the overall direction of the party and the policy-making process through a rolling program of policy development. It carries out this role by setting strategic objectives on an annual basis and meeting regularly to review the work of the party.

The National Executive Committee Members are:

  • Ato Zeleke Radi, Organizational Affairs Standing Committee Chair
  • Dr Hailu Arraya, Public Relations Standing Committee Chair
  • Ato Tekele Bekele, Finance Affairs Standing Committee Chair
  • Ato Tmesegen Zewdie, Foreign Relations Standing Committee Chair
  • Ato Mulat Tassew, Political Affairs Standing Committee Chair
  • Ato Wondwossen Tsegaye, Economy Affairs Standing Committee Chair
  • Ato Shemeles Habete, Social Affairs Standing Committee Chair
  • Ato Demessie Mengistu, Legal and Human Rights Affairs Standing Committee Chair
  • Ato Asetat Tassie, General Secretary

Former Executive Committee of UDJ

At its meeting held on 15 December 2009, the newly strengthened National Executive Committee of UDJ has made the following assignments and reassignments of duties within itself:

  • Engineer Gizachew Shiferaw – Deputy Chairperson
  • Dr. Hailu Araaya – Deputy Chairperson and Head of Study and Research
  • Dr. Negaso Gidada – Deputy Chairperson and Head of Foreign Affairs
  • Ato Andualem Aragie – Deputy Chairperson and Head of Public Relations
  • Ato Asrat Tasie – Head of Organizational Affairs
  • Ato Ato Dawit Asrede– – General Secretary
  • Ato Haileyesus Mekonnen – Deputy Head of Organizational Affairs
  • Ato Shimelis Habte – Deputy Head of Public Relations

UDJP was formed on June 17, 2008 therefor, Ms. Midekssa is not the first Ethiopian woman political party leader. At its meeting held on 15 December 2009, the newly strengthened National Executive Committee of UDJ made the following assignments and reassignments of duties within itself:

  • Engineer Gizachew Shiferaw –Deputy Chairperson and Head of Organizational Affairs
  • Dr. Hailu Araaya – Deputy Chairperson and Head of Study and Research

  • Ato Siyye Abraha – Deputy Chairperson and Head of Public Relations
  • Ato Asrat Tasie – Head of Organizational Affairs
